Toward energy transition in museums

08 Nov 2023 — Capodimonte Museum: Achieving 90% Energy Self-Sufficiency with Invisible Photovoltaic Modules

Capodimonte Museum in Naples, Italy, is set to become a pioneer in energy sustainability!

By 2025, the museum will achieve its goal with the installation of 4,500 invisible photovoltaic modules and a trigeneration system – a technology that produces electricity, heating, and cooling from a single energy source, making it highly efficient and versatile -.
This initiative will significantly reduce the building’s energy consumption, with the potential to cover over 90% of its energy needs.

The project is led by ENGIE, one of the largest energy companies in the world, and represents Italy’s first Public-Private Partnership for an autonomous museum’s development.
